Different Heat Pump Compressor TypesWhat’s the difference between single, two-stage, and variable speed compressors? Single-stage compressors have one output speed – high. Two-stage compressors operate most often at about 65% of total capacity, but full capacity during extreme temps. A variable-speed compressor has a fan motor that can move at different speeds and controls the amount of air dispersed in a home. A single-stage unit may offer the lowest initial investment, but it can cause high monthly energy bills. A two-stage unit is quieter and more efficient, while variable speed units are the most intelligent on the market and can save you big on energy costs over their lifetime.

Why Is My Gas Furnace Producing Yellow Flames?A clear blue flame is a sign of a healthy system. If yours has changed color, it’s usually a symptom of a dirty burner or heat exchanger. Never leave a yellow flame unchecked, though, because it could also be a sign of a natural gas leak.

Jeff was on time. He diagnosed the system quickly. Fixed it. He was very professional and respectful to the property. Gave me some good advice. I would recommend Jeff to the folks who need HVAC repair.- Larry V.

Robert was great! He switched out all of my leaky valves that were under my sink and fixed our dishwasher hookup. He was super friendly and great with my dog as well. Not only did he inform me of the missing handle on my water shut off which the township didn’t bother letting me know about when they switched my meter out but he was able to use one of the handles that were removed from under the sink so if I need to I can shut my water off. He did all of this in under two hours for a reasonable price. Would highly recommend it!- Michelle B.

Jake was the absolute best! He explained everything, but without talking down to me. He told me what should consider doing now and what could wait. Not pushy at all. I don't look forward to the maintenance visits, but Jake set the bar! A thousand stars to you, Jake!- Cosmo

-
Frequent Electrical Surges
Repeated electrical surges can often be the result of poor electrical wiring or faulty appliances. In addition to being frustrating, they pose a significant risk to both your home and electronic devices. When electrical wiring is outdated or not properly installed, it may have trouble handling the electrical current, resulting in surges. In poorly wired systems, the power flow is not controlled accurately leading to intermittent increases in voltage. Similarly, faulty appliances can also trigger electrical surges. Appliances, especially those with complex circuitry, can generate spikes in electricity when they're turned on or off. If these appliances are damaged or malfunctioning, they can create inconsistencies in the power flow, resulting in electrical surges. Over time, these surges can severely damage other electrical devices in your home, reducing their lifespan.
-
Dimming or Flickering Lights
These issues can often indicate a loose or defective bulb, but if replacing the bulb doesn't resolve the issue, it could be a sign of serious wiring issues.
-
Smelly or Sparking Power Outlets
If you ever detect a burning smell or see sparks from an outlet, disconnect any devices and call our team as soon as possible. These are signs of serious electrical problems that demand immediate attention. One of the primary causes is faulty or outdated wiring. Over time, wires can become frayed or degraded, potentially causing short circuits that produce sparks and an unmistakable burning smell. Similarly, an overloaded circuit, where more electrical current is drawn than the circuit can handle, can result in overheating, sparking, and occasionally even fire. This type of overload often occurs when too many high-powered appliances are plugged into the same circuit. Another potential cause of burning smells or sparks from outlets is loose or corroded connections. These create high resistance points, which in turn generate heat. If the heat is excessive, it can cause the insulation and surrounding materials to burn, emitting the characteristic burning smell.
